Concrete Crack In Underground Car Park

Newly constructed apartment block and shopping precinct in Hurstville NSW. With cracks to the concrete slab on the first level of the multi-story underground car park allowing water to leak from the loading dock above, a permanent solution was sought by the building developer and engineer.

Cause

The cracks were caused during the initial 28 day cure phase after the concrete pour. The concrete in its wet state likely had too much water added during the day of the pour and due to rapid evaporation the concrete slab shrunk.

Solution

Inject cracks with a low viscosity epoxy resin and finish to match existing.
